Fall Meeting Presentation – SCAMS

Oct 06, 2022

On October 5th, District 9 members met in Clinton for the Annual Fall Meeting.  After the business parts of the meeting, the members enjoyed hearing from OPP Officer Jamie Stanley from Goderich.  After saying “hi” to his kindergarten and high school math teachers, Officer Stanley presented “Scams and Fraud Awareness”.  The amount of information offered cannot be captured in this post.  Instead, Officer Stanley shared some of his slides and some helpful links shared below.  We thank Officer Stanley for staying and answering many questions, including “If I have a friend who is sending money to an obvious scammer, but is unwilling to listen to reason, what can I do?”  (Answer at the bottom of the page!)

You can also check out this webcast from RTO if you want further information about “Cyber Security”.  The questions and answers from the webcast are here!

ANSWER – Call the local police in your friend’s area.  They should visit your friend and provide advice that, HOPEFULLY, your friend will listen to.
